Morphometrics of the nematode is reported. At 24±1°C the duration of life cycle was seven days on larva of Corcyra cephalonica Staint (Galleridae: Lepidoptera). The LC-50 for larva of C. cephalonica was 5.02 IJ/ larva at 24±1°C. There was a direct relationship existed between the number of nematodes applied and number invading the host. The maximum multiplication of 48,000 IJ / larva was recorded when C. cephalonica larva was inoculated was 5 IJ/larva. Grubs of Oryctes rhinoceros L. (Scarabaeidae: Coleoptera), Rhynchophorus ferrugnieus Fabr. (Curculionidae: Coleoptera) and Leucopholis coneophora Burm. (Scarabaeidae: Coleoptera) were recorded as hosts under laboratory condition.Item Natural Occurrence of an Entomopathogenic Nematode, Heterorhabditis Indicus (Poinar,Karunakar and David) from Kerala, India.(1998) Gulsar Banu, J.; Sosamma, V.K.; Koshy, P.K.Natural occurrence of an entomopathogenic nematode, Heterorhabditis indicus (Poinar, Karunakar and David) from soil is reported for the first time from Kerala, India. A total of 100 samples were collected from different soil types. Steinernema sp. was recorded in seven per cent samples and Heterorhabditis sp. in 11 per cent samples. The pH of the positive samples ranged from 4.93 - 6.39. Based on the rnorphometric analysis all the Heterorhabditis were identified as Heterorhabditis indica. Entomopathogenic nematodes were isolated from the rhizosphere of coconut and clove.Item Plant Parasitic Nematodes Associated with Oil Palm in India(1998) Sundararaju, P.; Koshy, P.K.; Rathnakaran, K.; Gulsar Banu, J.; Sosamma, V.K.Item Tapioca pearl as a substitute for Agar in culturing Radopholus similis on carrot discs(1999) Gulsar Banu, J.; Sosamma, V.K.Item Tapioca pearl as a substitute for Agar in culturing Radopholus similis on carrot discs(1999) Gulsar Banu, J.; Sosamma, V.K.
