All the exotic cultivars tested were found Susceptible to the disease with varying degrees of intensity. However, the coconut culrivar San Ramon recorded significantly lower disease incidence followed by Guam, St. Vincent and Kenya. The infection of leaf rot incited by Bipolaris halodes (Drechsler) Shoem. was also low in these cultivars.Item Search For Root (Wilt) Disease Resistance In Coconut(1978) Mathai, G.Item Seasonal And Varietal Variations On The Incidence Of Leaf Rot Of Coconut In The Root (Wilt) Affected Tracts(1980) Mathai, G.The results of studies conducted on the seasonal and varietal variations on the incidence of leaf rot in the Root (wilt) affected tracts of Kerala are presented in this paper. The results indicated that leaf tot disease intensity was higher during September October when the north cast monsoon showers arc received in the area. Among nine hybrid/varieties tested TxLD followed by TxNYG recorded lowest incidence of leaf rot symptoms. Hybrid TxNYG followed by TxLD was found tolerant to root (wilt) disease. The intensity of leaf rot was comparatively low in those varieties where a lesser incidence of root (wilt) was observed and the correlation-coefficient computed were statistically significant.
