Abstract

A functional model for growth and yield of cocoa is described. The effects of growth parameters viz., relative growth and net assimilation rates on yield as well as partitioning efficiency of dry matter, carbon and nitrogen are considered. The major environmental variables that influence growth and yield components are light and water stress. The relationships developed here will enable efforts to increase cocoa productivity.
