Cellulase activity was determined in the roots of healthy and root (wilt) diseased coconut palms. Higher activity was obtained in the diseased palms when compared to the healthy ones. The results of the study indicate that cellulase might be one of the factors responsible for the vast decay of roots observed in the diseased palms.en_US
