The symptoms and diagnostic tests, etiology and management of the disease are highlighted. Effective quarantine measures are needed to prevent the movement of planting material from disease-prevalent to disease-free areas. Until effective control measures are developed the palms in the affected area should be rejuvenated and the disease contained within its present geographical limits.enArticle
