The magnitude of pollen loss due to a prolonged first male phase has been indicated. A longer mixed phase with abundant flowering could ensure high sex ratio. An intrinsic balancing system controlling such a mixed phase would be of immense value for increasing yield in cashew. Genotypic selection for appropriate sexual phase specificity in anthesis may be possible in cashew and this may help in designing an idiotype for this crop plant.enStudies on Floral Biology in Cashew, Anacardium Occidentals Linn.Article
